Mt Portal on a Hot Day...
WEDNESDAY 11/10/06, 17K, WEEK TO DATE 26K, 6 HOURS SLEEP
On a 28 degree day I ran from home into the National Park, down and up the Gorge, then the Portal Firetrail to Mt Portal Lookout, and return. Some pretty long hills in this one. Travelled well at first but at the bottom of the gorge on the way home the heat finally got to me (shorts were crusted in salt after only 14K running) and it got very ugly from there to home, with some walking involved.
Good course this one, pity summer is coming....
